Haruka & The Stalker

This story focuses around the character of Haruka ( Sailor Uranus). It's based on the original version of Sailor Moon, so I'll be using the Japanese names and attacks. Sailormoon is copy right by Naoko Takeuchi/ Kodansha. I hope you enjoy my fanfic. E-mail me at [email protected]

The alarm clock rang loudly in Haruka's ears.

" What! It's eight thirty! I'm going to be so late for school." She quickly jumped out of her bed and got dressed. She had no time for a shower or even breakfast. She had to go pick Michiru up at her house. Haruka was worried Michiru would be mad if she was late. She was about to leave when she saw a envelope under her door. It was addressed to her. Haruka quickly opened it. She unfolded a yellow piece of paper. It said:

* I know who you really are Haruka. I'm going to get you. *

Haruka felt strange. Did someone know she was Sailor Uranus? What did they want? Or it could just be a joke done by Michiru. Haruka had no time to worry about it, she had to get to Michiru's.

" Where were you! I bet that even Usagi is already at school. We're going to be late." Michiru got into the passenger seat of Haruka's car. Haruka had to think of a excuse.

" I think my alarm clock is broken," Haruka replied, as she ran a comb through her short blonde hair," Anyway that doesn't matter. We'll make it in time. I know it."

Michiru just looked out the window and mumbled to herself " I might as well got a ride with that idiot, Seiya."

" Listen, Michiru I have other problems to worry about besides being late for school."

" Problem?" Questioned Michiru," What have you been hiding from me?"

Haruka knew Michiru was mad at her, and that things would clear up by lunch hour. Fights never last long between the two. But Haruka wouldn't worry Michiru about the letter. It was best she didn't know. They had been friends ever since they found out they were Sailor Uranus & Sailor Neptune. Their relationship was very deep and they were more than just friends, even though they didn't show much of their affection in public. Lots of people confused Haruka for a boy, so it didn't really matter if the two kissed in front of strangers. But they wouldn't do anything like that in front of the other Sailor Senshi.

" Finally we made it." Haruka announced. She pulled her car into Juuban High School's parking lot. The school bell rang and the two girls got out of the car. Michiru started to run to the school, and Haruka noticed she had dropped a text book on the seat.

" Michiru, wait!" Haruka yelled to her," You dropped a book!" Haruka picked up the book and handed it to Michiru, who came back to the car.

Michiru could smell the light scent of the cologne she had given Haruka. She smiled.

" I'm sorry for yelling at you, Haruka. I just panicked because I was late. I hope you forgive me." Haruka reached out to touch Michiru's sea-green hair. Michiru stepped closer and the two kissed.

" See you at lunch." Haruka pulled her away after a few moments. They both ran into the school.

After school, Dick's Ice Cream Parlor was full of seven teenage girls and a young man. Usagi suggested that her friends all come get ice-cream at the new parlor. At one table sat Rei, Usagi, Mamoru ( who sat beside Usagi), Ami, and Makoto. Minako, Haruka and Michiru sat at a table right across from them. Minako was trying to feed her cat, Artemis some of her sundae.

" I told you I don't like ice cream, Minako. Leave me alone!" Artemis jumped back into Minako's book bag, where Luna all ready was, and zippered up the bag. Minako laughed.

" Oh, well no tuna fish until you eat your ice cream." Minako looked at Haruka and blushed. Minako wished that Haruka was really a boy, and that Michiru wasn't in the picture. Haruka was the coolest person Minako ever known and sometimes forgot that Haruka was a girl.

" Dairy products aren't good for cats. It's bad for their kidneys," said Haruka,

" You should leave Artemis alone, Minako." Haruka glanced across the table at Minako. Just then she noticed a man at the table behind them. He was wearing a long trench coat and dark sunglasses. He was looking straight at Haruka.

Haruka turned away from his stare and looked over to the other table of her friends.

Usagi had ordered a HUGE chocolate sundae. She was sharing it with Mamoru, but he only took a few spoonfuls. Usagi was eating a lot and fast. Rei noticed this and decided to make one of her remarks.

" Can't you eat slower, Odango Atama. You're getting ice cream on me." She looked at Usagi in disgust.

" Shut Up, Rei. I can eat as quick and as much as I want." Usagi stopped eating only to say that then she went back to eating.

" You're such a pig!" Rei exclaimed," You're embarrassing to be with." Usagi stopped eating and started to fight with Rei.

" Break it up you two," spoke up Ami," I want to enjoy this afternoon, before I have to study for my calculus math exam." She had just taken the last bite of her banana split.

" Hey, Haruka," Mamoru called across to Haruka," Are you trying out for that car race on Saturday. I heard there's a ten thousand dollars for first prize." He took another bite of the huge sundae.

" You bet. I hope I win. I would really like the money." Haruka replied. She was really excited about the race. She had washed her race car yesterday, so it was a shiny red. If she wins the race she was going to surprise Michiru with a diamond necklace that she wanted.

" Let's all go see the race," said Makoto," We can cheer Haruka on."

" Sounds like fun," said Rei, who was done her fight with Usagi," You can count me in."

They all agreed to go. Haruka felt happy to have such good friends, but she just couldn't stop thinking about that stranger and that letter she had gotten that morning. She hadn't told anyone, not even Michiru about the letter or the man. Was someone after her? Haruka looked back at the stranger's table but the man was gone.

Maybe I just need a nap, Haruka thought to herself.

" I'm kind of tired," She told the others," I'm going home to get some rest for the race tomorrow. Does anyone want a lift?"

" Are you feeling O.K.?" Michiru asked her," You are always full of energy."

" I'm fine." Haruka was becoming annoyed. She hoped they couldn't see that she was worried, and it wasn't about the race.

" O.K., she was only asking." Rei had picked up on Haruka's bad mood.

" See you tomorrow, Haruka." Usagi finished the sundae," Good luck."

Haruka ran her fingers through Michiru's hair.

" I'll call you later." She told her best friend.

When Haruka got back to her car she saw another envelope. Her heart beat loudly in her chest and she opened it. It read:

* I'm going to kill you, Sailor Uranus. You give me the Starlight Moon Stone or you will pay with your life and the lives of the Sailor Senshi.*

" What!" Haruka said out loud," What Starlight Moon Stone? How does this person know I'm a Senshi." She was starting to panic and she could feel her heart speed up. Who was this stalker?

" I should call the police. Yeah that's what I should do." She picked up the phone but then decided against it.

" I just can't. They will know I'm Uranus. And I better not tell the other Senshi, they would freak out especially Michiru", She put the phone back on the hook," You should just ignore this, Haruka. That would be the best thing to do."

Haruka jumped when she heard the phone ring. She picked it up.

" Hello, what do you want?" Haruka sounded very nervous.

The caller was Usagi.

" What's up Haruka? You sound scared. Is something wrong? I just got back from Dick's. I brought everyone to my house to show them new renovation to my room. You want to come over."

" Nah, I'm kind of tired Usagi", Haruka replied," Maybe tomorrow after the race. I need to get my rest. Can I talk to Michiru please?"

" O.K.," Usagi said," I'll see you tomorrow then."

Haruka heard some muffling then Michiru's voice was heard.

" Hi, Haruka" Michiru said cheerfully.

" Hi, Michiru," Haruka replied," I bet you are having fun looking at Odango's room. Poor thing you are. I bet she has bags of chips and doughnuts all over her floor." Haruka joked with Michiru.

" I hope Usagi didn't wake you up from your sleep. I told her not to call but Odango Atama insistent we find out if anything was wrong." Michiru said.

" Wrong? Why would anything be wrong, Michiru?" Haruka didn't like Michiru worrying about her.

" Well you said you were tired and left the parlor early. It's not like you to get tired so easy. You always go to bed around ten, so it's not like you stay up late. You are always full of energy, Haruka."

" Well I just want to be ready for the race. I need all the rest I can get. Please don't worry about me, I'm just fine." Haruka was becoming a little annoyed. Michiru could hear it in her voice.

" I'll see you tomorrow, Haruka." Michiru said good bye and hung up the phone.

" Did you find out why Haruka is acting so strange?" Minako asked Michiru.

" No," Michiru answered," She wouldn't tell me."

" You guys are worried about nothing," spoke up Makoto," She's just stressed out about the race. She will be back to her old self tomorrow when she's holding that check for ten thousand dollars."

The next morning came. It was Saturday, race day! Haruka woke up at six to have her breakfast, but before doing so she checked around her door.

No letters.

" Good," she said to herself," That's over. Now I can get on with my life." She ate her breakfast and got dressed. She put on her blue jeans, a dark green button up shirt, and combed her short blonde hair. She put a small stud earring in her right ear. She knew she looked a lot like a boy, but that was good. She wanted all the other racers to know she was just as tough as they were. They would probably mistake her as a boy anyway.

The speed way was crowded. Haruka could see Michiru and the others from her car. Usagi and Minako were holding signs saying " Go Haruka" & " You're cute Haruka." ( that was Minako's sign.) Rei was grabbing at their signs, trying to put them down. Michiru was talking to Ami. Haruka noticed she was wearing a nice yellow sundress. She would win this one for Michiru.

Only three laps around the track and that money is mine, she thought to herself.

The driver in the car beside her knocked on her window. Haruka rolled it down. The driver was a man in sun glasses.

" Good luck, Sailor Uranus." He said.

Before Haruka could say anything there was a announcement.

" Would all drivers please report to their cars." Haruka shut her door. The driver in the next car did the same.

The flag man gave the signal and the cars were off. Haruka started off at a moderate speed, then speed up as she past the first corner. She soon was in the lead.

Only three more laps to go, she thought to herself.

She was on her last lap when she noticed a another car close beside her. It was that strange man again. He looked over at Haruka. Haruka could feel his eyes on her, but she couldn't take her eyes off the road. She did take a quick glance and saw the driver stare at her and laugh. He didn't seem to have to watch the road, he just drove without looking at it. Just then he speed up. Haruka did the same but she started to hear strange noises from her engine. Smoke started to come out of the engine.

" What the hell!" Haruka exclaimed. She swung quickly to make a turn with her car got out of control and she hit a wall.

People rushed to the scene.

" Oh god!" Michiru cried," Haruka!" She ran her hand through Haruka's bloody hair. She pulled her close. Usagi and the others just cried.

Michiru and Usagi walked into the Haruka's hospital room. Haruka had been there for a week since her accident and was quickly recovering. She only had a few scrapes.

" I brought these for you." Michiru held out a dozen red roses.

" Oh, that's so cute," exclaimed Usagi," I wonder if Mamoru would do that for me if I was in the hospital."

" Probably wouldn't." Michiru replied. This made Usagi sad and she started to cry.

" I still don't understand what happened," Michiru said to Haruka," You are such a good driver. You never have accidents."

Haruka just remembered the stalker. He surely won the race.

" Who won?" Haruka asked.

" I don't remember," Michiru replied," I was too worried about you to care."

" I really wanted to win, Michiru, for you. I wanted to surprise you with a diamond necklace. I'm sorry I let you down." Haruka relaxed her head on her pillow.

" That doesn't matter as long as we're together. I'll remember to tape " Ellen" tonight, so we can watch it when you're out of here. I care about you a lot, Haruka." Michiru bend close to kiss Haruka then stopped when she remembered Usagi being there.

" When are you getting out?" Usagi asked," Everybody at school misses you."

" I'm getting out tomorrow," Haruka replied," I have something I have to take care of as soon as I'm out."

Michiru & Usagi begged her to tell them what was wrong, but Haruka wouldn't tell them.

" It's best you two don't get involved. This is something I have to do alone."

Michiru started to cry.

" I want to help. Please tell me Haruka!"

" Yeah, Haruka tell us!" Usagi put her arm around Michiru.

The nurse then came in and told the girls to leave because Haruka needed her rest. When they got to the parking lot Usagi announced that they would have to have a emergency meeting.

" Good idea. I'll contact the others. We can have the meeting at my place." Michiru got out her communicator.

Meanwhile at the hospital Haruka just woke up from a nightmare. She dreamt that she had went to Michiru's for a visit and found her on the floor with her throat slit. The rest of the Senshi were also found in the living room the same way. On the wall someone had wrote in red paint " I told you I'd get them!"

Haruka woke up in sweat all over her body. Just then a nurse walked in and saw Haruka sweating.

" Are you O.K.?" She asked.

Haruka turned the face the nurse.

" I'm fine. Just had a bad dream. Can I go home today? I really have to."

The nurse frowned.

" I'm sorry dear," she replied," But you still need your rest. Tomorrow might be the day." She put a fan on Haruka's dresser and turned it on.

" Can I at least use the phone?" Haruka asked.

The nurse returned to the room a few minutes later with a telephone. Then she left so Haruka could have her privacy.

First she tried Rei's house. The girls sometimes spend their time there studying. But there was no answer. Next she tried Michiru's number. No one was home. Haruka started to worry. It wasn't like Michiru not to be home on a Tuesday night at nine o'clock. This is when " Ellen" is on. Haruka knew something was wrong. She just had to get out of here. She got out of her bed and climbed threw her window. The window wasn't very high off the ground so she jumped.

" I'm coming Michiru. I won't let anyone hurt you." she said out loud as she ran to Michiru's house.

" He's too strong!" Sailor Jupiter exclaimed after she had tried her Supreme Thunder attack on the monster.

" Let me try." Mars used her Burning Mandala, but the enemy was still too strong. He just absorbed their attacks.

" Where is Sailor Uranus!'' the monster blasted the Sailor Senshi to the floor.

" You know it's her I want. I need the Starlight Moon Stone, so hand her over." He shouted at the Senshi.

The Senshi were all puzzled.

" What the hell are you talking about!" demanded Sailor Neptune.

" I see Haruka hasn't told you her secret then after all." The monster shot weeds from his head and tied up the Senshi.

" Let us go!" said Sailor Mercury. They all tried to break out of the weeds, but couldn't.

" I think you better let them go if you know what's best for you." said a voice. It was Tuxedo Kamen. He threw his rose at the monster's face, but the monster grabbed it and threw it to the ground. He then tied up Tuxedo Kamen just like the Senshi.

" I'm sorry I let you down, Sailor Moon." He said.

" There's still one hope." Spoke up Sailor Neptune.

" Luna & Artemis?" asked Sailor Moon.

" No stupid, Odango Atama. There's Sailor Uranus. Oh, I hope she comes." Neptune replied.

" I feel a evil force here. I better transform." Haruka was just outside of Michiru's house.

" Uranus Planet Power, make up!" She quickly transformed and opened the door.

" Hello, anyone home?" Then she heard a scream from the kitchen. She hurried in to see the Senshi and Tuxedo Kamen laying on the floor. The monster had zapped some kind of electricity through them and they all laid unconscious except for Sailor Moon.

" Sailor Uranus, help us!" she cried.

" Sailor Moon what's going on? What do you want you ugly thing." She used her World Shaking attack at the monster. But it didn't hurt him.

" You're stronger then I thought Uranus. Now hand over that stone or I'll finish your friends off for good." He was indeed the one who had been stalking Haruka.

" Come on, Haruka, I can't wait all day." He shot another blot of energy threw the weed that was Michiru's. The energy was slowly frying her insides.

" Stop it!" Uranus cried," I don't have this Starlight Moon Stone you are looking for. Leave them alone. If you want to kill someone it might as well be me."

Just then Haruka had a image in her mind.

It was a long time ago on the Moon Kingdom, before the attack by Queen Baryl. Sailor Uranus and Queen Serenity were talking in the palace.

" Haruka," said Serenity," I have a special mission for you." She held out a large clear crystal. It was very beautiful, and large.

" What is this?" Uranus asked the Queen.

" This is the most powerful weapon in all the Moon Kingdom, even stronger than the Silver Crystal. It is called the Starlight Moon Stone. I want you to protect it for me. I fear peace here on the Moon is going to end. I need this stone protected."

" But why me my Queen? Shouldn't your daughter, Usagi, be the keeper of such a important stone." Uranus took the stone from Queen Serenity and studied it. It was beautiful.

" I think you are the most mature of the Sailor Senshi. Usagi is still very young and can make stupid mistakes and with Prince Endymion in her life I think she might not be the person I'm looking for."

" But, Queen Serenity, the stone's so big how can I carry it around with me all the time?" Uranus stared at the stone.

A light appeared around the stone and then it disappeared.

" It is in your tiara now, Haruka. You will know when it is time to use it."

The memory left Sailor Uranus's mind.

" I remember everything now," exclaimed Sailor Uranus," Queen Serenity gave me the Starlight Moon Stone to protect."

The monster smiled.

" I'm glad you finally figured it out. Too bad it's too late!" He sent another bolt of energy threw the weeds. The Sailor Senshi started to roast, until they were dead.

" My friends!," cried Uranus," You monster how could you!" She touched her tiara and the Starlight Moon Stone appeared in her hands. She didn't know how to use it or if she should. She felt too weak to even try. She started to cry.

" Stop that crying! You're acting like Usagi. Come on Haruka, use the stone. We are all counting on you." A quiet voice came from the dead body of Sailor Mars.

" Help us live again. I know you have the power to destroy this evil." Said a dead Sailor Jupiter.

" I think a lot of you Haruka, even though it's only a crush. Don't let me down." Sailor Venus's voice said.

" I study a lot so we never did have much time to get to know each other well. Please give me a second chance to be a close friend." Sailor Mercury's voice said.

" Please give us a future Haruka. The stone will give you the power. Believe me. Believe my mother, Queen Serenity. I promise you on behalf of the Moon you will win this fight." A small voice came from Sailor Moon.

" Don't take away our future Haruka. I believe in you." said a dead Tuxedo Kamen.

Sailor Uranus looked at Sailor Neptune's dead body laying on the floor.

" Haruka," said Neptune," Remember all the good times we've had. Don't let it end this way. I know you can defeat him. Please do it for me and for our love we share."

" They're right," Sailor Uranus stopped crying," I'm going to send you to hell you bastard!" she shouted to the monster.

The monster shot a weed at Sailor Uranus, but missed.

" Starlight Moon Power!" Uranus shouted. A bright beam of light came from the stone and hit the monster. The monster screamed and fell to the floor.

" Haruka!" Shouted Sailor Neptune. She ran over to Haruka and hugged her tight. The rest of the Sailor Senshi were also back to life and rushed over to Haruka.

" We knew you could do it." exclaimed Sailor Moon.

They all watched as the Starlight Moon Stone hovered over the body of the monster. The monster's evil spirit went inside the stone then flew outside. The Senshi ran after it. It went up into the sky and disappeared.

" Oh no!" exclaimed Uranus," It got away. I'm sorry I let your mother down, Usagi. I guess I'm not really responsible after all."

" That's not true," replied Moon," I guess the Stone was for one time use only. Queen Serenity would be proud of you."

" Sailor Moon is right." Spoke up a voice behind them. They all turned around to see a handsome man with short blond hair and green eyes.

" What is going on?" asked Sailor Venus.

" Let me explain," said the man," My name is Ukyo. I used to be a servant of Queen Serenity back on the Moon. I had served the Queen even before any of you were born. I always thought I was the Queen's favorite and that I would be the one chosen to protect the stone. I was cleaning up the Palace when I peaked through the door of the Queen's chamber and saw Sailor Uranus getting the stone. I was furious and jealous. This jealousy took over my body and I became evil. When I came to Earth I started to look for Sailor Uranus, so I could get the stone and my revenge. Thanks for defeating my evil spirit and setting me free again. I'm sorry for everything Haruka. Please forgive me."

Haruka nodded. Ukyo's body then started to decay and rot.

" I guess he died a long time ago but that evil jealous sprite took over his body. At last he can rest in peace." Haruka picked up the Starlight Moon Stone.

" Ew gross!" exclaimed Sailormoon," He left his dead carcass on the floor."
